Porcelain Veneers Sunshine Coast
Diamond Dental Care provides porcelain veneers at our Sippy Downs clinic. Veneers are thin shells bonded to the front surface of teeth. Results vary significantly between individuals. Contact us to discuss whether veneers are suitable for you.
What are Porcelain Veneers?
Custom-made porcelain shells that bond to teeth. May be used to address chipped teeth, severe discolouration, gaps, or minor misalignment.
Important Information
Critical: Veneers are a permanent, irreversible procedure requiring removal of tooth enamel. Natural tooth structure cannot be restored once removed.
Treatment Considerations:
- Requires removal of 0.5-1mm of tooth enamel
- Multiple appointments required (typically 2-3 visits)
- Results vary significantly between individuals
- Typically last 10-15 years (varies by individual)
- Replacement will eventually be required
Potential Risks:
- Increased tooth sensitivity (temporary or permanent)
- Veneer may chip, crack, or debond
- Unsatisfactory aesthetic results
- Colour mismatch over time
- Need for root canal if sensitivity is severe
- Need for replacement if damaged
Limitations:
- Not suitable for significant decay or gum disease
- Cannot be whitened once placed
- Not recommended for teeth grinders without night guard
- Requires excellent oral hygiene maintenance
Your dentist will discuss specific risks and outcomes during consultation.
