At Diamond Dental Care, we understand that undergoing dental procedures can be a significant financial burden. For patients experiencing severe acute or chronic pain requiring urgent dental treatment, early release of superannuation may be available through the Australian government’s compassionate grounds program.
What is SuperCare?
SuperCare is a service that enables you to apply for the Early Release of your Superannuation to cover the cost of essential dental treatments for you or your immediate family members. This government initiative is designed to support those who need urgent dental care but may not have the necessary funds readily available.
How Does SuperCare Work?
- Eligibility Check: First, we will assess your eligibility for early superannuation release based on the dental treatment required. Eligible treatments generally include major dental procedures, orthodontics, and oral surgeries that are necessary for maintaining oral health.
- Application Process: If you are eligible, our experienced team will assist you with the application process. We work closely with SuperCare to ensure that all necessary documents are submitted accurately and promptly.
- Approval and Funding: Once your application is approved by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), the funds will be released from your superannuation account. These funds can then be used to pay for your dental treatments at Diamond Dental Care.
Benefits of Using SuperCare
- Access to Funds for Medical Necessity: For patients suffering from acute or chronic pain who do not have other means to fund treatment, early superannuation release provides access to funds to address urgent dental health needs.
- Coverage for Necessary Treatments: Approved funds can be used for dental procedures required to alleviate acute or chronic pain, such as treatments for severe infections, impacted teeth causing chronic pain, or other conditions causing significant suffering.
- Family Support: You can apply for early release of superannuation to cover dental treatments for your spouse, children, and other dependents who are experiencing acute or chronic pain or other qualifying medical conditions.
- Application Assistance: Our team at Diamond Dental Care will guide you through gathering the required documentation and can provide the medical evidence needed to support your application to the ATO.
Please note: Early release of superannuation permanently reduces your retirement savings. We strongly encourage you to consider all other financial options first, including payment plans, private health insurance, and personal savings.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for early superannuation release on compassionate grounds, the ATO requires that:
- You or your immediate family member requires urgent medical or dental treatment to alleviate acute or chronic pain, treat a life-threatening illness or injury, or alleviate acute or chronic mental disturbance.
- The treatment is medically necessary and cannot be reasonably delayed.
- You have insufficient financial resources to pay for the treatment, after considering private health insurance, other savings, and assets.
- You can provide supporting medical documentation from your treating dentist or medical practitioner.
The ATO reviews each application individually and makes the final determination on eligibility. Diamond Dental Care cannot guarantee approval.
